Empty New Tab Page extension

Afterward, you can delete the extension. Once you have deleted it, you can restore the default New Tab page of Chrome by clicking the Edit icon in the lower right corner. Select “No Background,” and then click “Done.” After doing this, you’ll return to the default New Tab page. Once you’re back to the default new tab page, you can choose to remove any shortcuts and customize the appearance of your new tab page.
If you’re not happy with the default thumbnails on your new tab page, you can also try clearing your browser’s history. The data in your browser changes over time, so clearing this history will fix the issue. However, deleting history will not remove the thumbnails completely.
Manually removing or renaming thumbnails
