Turning off comments on your YouTube channel

If you cannot disable Restricted Mode on YouTube, check your internet connection settings and download the latest version of the YouTube application. If you have a VPN, you must log out of it first before trying to disable the restricted mode on YouTube. Similarly, you must uninstall any browser extensions or applications that have affected the YouTube application. Make sure to clear your cache data. You may also want to try logging out of your Google account to remove the restriction.
Filtering out inappropriate comments
YouTube has an option for moderating comments and deleting those that are harmful or inappropriate. You can moderate comments by clicking into the video’s details page, and then choosing the “Comment Visibility” option. Once you’ve clicked this option, you can then select “Hold for review” to place inappropriate comments in a queue to be reviewed later. This way, you can review potentially harmful comments before they’re published.
YouTube is also launching a new product, called “Rethink,” that gives you the option to consider your comment before posting it. Although this new feature isn’t intended to prevent users from posting comments, it will prevent people from making offensive comments if they have reported it several times. YouTube will delete comments containing banned words or phrases. It’s also possible to edit your comment settings to prevent abusive users from leaving comments. Once you’ve reported the comment, you can change your settings to hide the comment entirely. If you’re concerned about the commenter’s intentions, it’s also easy to block the user.
