When you’re using a tablet or phone with Gboard installed, you may have noticed that the keyboard seems to be floating. If you don’t want to use it, there are a couple of options you can use to hide the keyboard, zoom in and out on it, and turn off gesture hints.
Gboard is a floating keyboard
Google’s Gboard keyboard is a new feature that enables you to use a floating keyboard without having to move your phone. Its floating mode makes the keyboard easy to reach and is customizable depending on your finger size. You can even move the keyboard to a specific area on the screen by holding its handles.
A floating keyboard is especially useful when multitasking with a split-screen window. In the past, you would have to use a separate keyboard to move between the two windows. This makes copying information from one window to the other difficult. This feature allows you to move the keyboard wherever you want and still be able to use both windows.
You can zoom in or out on the keyboard
You can zoom in or out on the floating computer keyboard by pressing the plus or minus keys. You can zoom in to see more detail, or zoom out to see more items on the screen. The plus and minus keys are often represented by two separate symbols. The plus key has the “+” symbol, while the minus key has the “-” symbol.
You can use this feature to make the floating keyboard bigger or smaller depending on the size of your screen. You can zoom in or out by pinching in or out on the floating keyboard, and you can also zoom out by dragging the grey bar at the bottom of the screen. Once you’re done zooming in and out, you can go back to full keyboard size.
You can hide the keyboard
Some applications show a floating keyboard when you tap the screen. You can disable this feature. Similarly, you can hide the keyboard in some applications. Usually, the keyboard takes up 45 percent of your screen width and height. You can adjust the floating keyboard to fit your screen size by setting the size of the keyboard.
You can turn off gesture hints
If you’ve had trouble with Android’s floating keyboard, you can disable them from the Settings menu. This will stop the bar from displaying when you use a gesture. It will also prevent quick switch gestures, but you’ll still have full keyboard functionality. To turn off gesture hints, head into the keyboard settings and click the three-dot icon.
The floating keyboard icon is located in the top row of the keyboard. To enable it, tap the three-dot menu icon or the white arrow. If you don’t see it, open the Gboard settings menu and find the floating keyboard option there. You can also turn it off by tapping the expand icon.
You can turn off TouchPal’s floating keyboard
If you don’t want to use TouchPal’s floating keyboard on your HTC phone, you can disable it from your Android phone’s settings. To do this, you need to open the Settings menu on your phone and tap the TouchPal logo. Then, tap the NumRow Off option. The keyboard will now be in the normal format. It has a clipboard and arrow keys, as well as emojis and GIFs. It also supports multiple languages. The TouchPal keyboard is free, but it comes with ads. There are also paid themes and cloud prediction.
TouchPal is an Android keyboard app developed by OPPO. It supports multiple languages, gesture typing, on-screen correction, and one-handed layout. Depending on your needs, you can also adjust the keyboard’s height and use split-screen mode.
